There's a buffalo rancher in Montana who noticed something. When a storm rolls in, cows turn and run. They try to outrun it. But storms move faster than cows. So the cows stay in the rain longer, getting soaked, shivering, miserable for hours.
Bison do the opposite. They walk directly into the storm. Head down, shoulders forward. By charging toward it, they pass through faster. Less time wet. Less time cold. Less time suffering.
Same storm. Different strategy. Entirely different outcome.

The Digital Native just documented what anyone on TikTok already knows: AI is the most hated technology in a generation. Comments like "hope AI takes your job first" and "fuck AI" are mainstream now.
The reasons pile up:
Tech lost its halo after Cambridge Analytica, crypto scams, and algorithmic rage
AI arrived during an economic slump—people weren't clamoring for disruption
It attacks the top of Maslow's pyramid (creativity, expertise, identity), not the bottom
The most telling sign: vinyl sales are at a 30-year high. Flip phones are making a comeback. People crave the analog, the human, the real. AI is none of those things.
Fair enough. The hatred is understandable.

Running doesn't stop the storm
Here's the thing about cows: their instinct is correct. Storms are bad. Getting wet is miserable. Running away feels like self-protection.
But the math doesn't work. The storm keeps coming. You just extend your time in it.
The default employee response to AI is cow logic: deny it's happening, resist the tools, hope the whole thing blows over. Complain on TikTok. Sign petitions. Demand regulation.
None of that stops the storm. It just keeps you standing in the rain.

The contrarian play isn't to love AI or pretend the displacement isn't brutal. It's to acknowledge the storm is coming regardless of your feelings - and then move toward it.
Maybe the end of this storm is something better - choose ur church: post-scarcity economics, meaningful work decoupled from survival, a world where AI handles the drudgery and humans do what humans do best.
Or maybe it's worse. But either way, the storm arrives at the same time. The only choice is how long you spend getting soaked.
The storm is already here. You're just deciding how wet you want to get.
